Patty's Obituary

Below is Patty's Obituary.  It has the pertinent information as to the funeral arrangements.  Our family is doing fine.

Patricia Diane Aldrich passed from this life on January 20th, 2011 of complications related to viral pneumonia.
She was born November 2nd, 1949 in Long Beach, California to Harold Lester Hope and Maty Margaret Virginia (Neal) Hope.  She has two brothers, Ronald Wayne Hope and Steven Harold Hope and one sister, Sherry Lee King. She was raised and attended schools in Whittier, California.  While a senior at Whittier High School, she represented the school in the California High School Homemaking Competition and placed second at the state competition.
She married Steven Francis Aldrich on August 5th, 1967 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is the mother of four children, Steven Wayne Aldrich (Rema) of Auburn, Alabama, John Patrick Aldrich (Amie) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Allison Marie Aldrich, who has preceded her in death, and Matthew David Aldrich of South Jordan, Utah.  She is survived by seven grandchildren, Caleb, Hayden, Tyler, Ellie, Seth, Ethan and Luke.  Her family was the joy of her life.
Patricia was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on June 21st, 1969.  She was sealed to her husband in the Los Angeles Temple on July 11th, 1970.
She served in a number of capacities in the LDS Church and in a number of presidencies including the Young Women and Relief Society.  She was serving as a Relief Society President at the time of her daughter’s passing.  She loved to serve and loved all those she served and served with.  She had incredible compassion.
She loved her daily scripture study and had not missed a day reading the scriptures in the last 28 years.
Funeral services will be under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary and will be held Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 at 11:00am at the Founders Park Stake Center, 11685 S Kestrel Rise Road in South Jordan.  Bishop Corey Zander will preside.  The family will receive visitors from 10:00am to 10:45am at the church.  The Founders Park 4th Ward Relief Society will provide a luncheon after the funeral.
There will be a graveside ceremony and dedication, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, at the Ammon Cemetery in Ammon, Idaho, on Wednesday, January 26th, 2011 at 2:00pm.  The family will receive visitors from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Wood Funeral Home Eastside at 963 S. Ammon Road in Ammon, Idaho.
The family expresses their gratitude and love to all of those dear family and friends who so supportively fasted and prayed on Patricia’s behalf.  We also express our gratitude to the valiant nurses and doctors at the Intermountain Medical Center STICU who worked so hard to overcome the disease and complications that kept arising at every turn during her stay there.  You were wonderful.
